November Monthly Challenge - Fall Colors

This month's challenge is brought to us be Edi of Memories for Life. Edi has this to say about her Fall Colors Challenge:
The leaves are changing (or already changed) and the weather is cooling off. Before we head into winter, create one last piece with the beautiful colors of fall! Find inspiration in the nature around you.
Take a cue from your fellow BBA members with these beautiful fall-colored items.

Each month the team will have a challenge with a designated theme. You are to participate in 4 of these themes per year. Your project can be something as simple as a greeting card or gift tag, something for your home, something you add to your shop (but not required). The challenges are meant to be fun and give you ideas for new projects, allow you to try new mediums or add new items to your shop. Create something for the given theme and blog about the project at some point during the month. Then add your link to the team blog post around the 25th of each month.

February Challenge - Red

This month's challenge is brought to us by Edi of Memories for Life. She says "February is about hearts, love, roses...the color red. Create any project you like using the color red!"

I like this challenge most because it is so open-ended. You can create a simple project or a more elaborate one. And it can be about Valentine's Day, or just something red in general.

Here's a little inspiration to get us all started...

Happy Creating :)

Tuesday Treasuries

Treasuries on etsy are gallery collections of items for sale grouped under a theme chosen by the curator.  This is a fun way to showcase the talents and work of creative shop owners.
Blogging Business Artisans requires its members to curate one treasury per month.  Each week we will feature one of the past week's treasuries here on our team blog.
The treasury and each item within the treasury is clickable!

Summer may be coming to an end, but that doesn't mean we can't still enjoy the bright, cheery summer colors. Rose of Random Creative curated this fun treasury titled I Love Bright Colors!

Worktable Wednesday - Mixed Media

Worktable Wednesday features something new happening with the BBA members or something of interest we spy online.
Something I've always  been in awe of is Mixed Media! I love the combination of materials coming together to make a beautiful piece of art! Each piece is one-of-a-kind and made by hand. I think I'm most amazed by these works of art as this is something I've never been able to master. But these lovely BBA members know how to make beautiful mixed media art!

Erika of Artful Rising is my inspiration when it comes to mixed media! You can tell she puts her heart into each piece! This particular piece is a print, which means each one of us can own a piece of Erika's art! Even looking at the print you can see just how many pieces and layers went into this work.

Deb or Story Beader creates art journals that are both a work of art and a place to put your own art! I love that she starts you off with a beautiful base and allows you to create your own works of art in its pages! The journal itself consists of different kinds of papers and she even gives you some supplies to get you started :)

Jenny of A Bird In The Hand Art creates to most beautiful and unique bird ornaments. Who would have thought to put vintage handkerchiefs together with wood! Not only does Jenny combine the two, she layers each piece so that they match the birds features, like the beak on this blue jay! After adhering the handkerchief to the wood, Jenny then adds another media of paint to add small details like the eyes.

Do you love their work too? Share it with your friends on your favorite social media sites! And leave a comment with a link to your favorite mixed media piece...you might just see it here on a future Worktable Wednesday :) ******************************************************************************
