I'm Deb, the storybeader. {:-D
I was born and raised in New Jersey, went to school in California, and followed some family members to Oklahoma, where I now live. Yes, I've been all over the country. I love and miss the ocean, but I'm home on the southern plains.
I live with my DH and two dogs in the third (or fourth, depending on the year) largest city in Oklahoma. I've been working as a curator in a regional museum for over 25 years, taking care of the archives and library. I get to organize paper and photographs, do a lot of writing, and work on a database. The perfect job; but then, I'm biased...
I've always been a reader and writer, with a pen and pad of paper close at hand. In the fall of 2009, my mom and I went to a bookmaking class (she's a librarian like me) in Oklahoma City and we had a great time. A few months later, I took the plunge and taught myself how to bind books using the coptic stitch. I was hooked. I dropped the jewelry I was making, kept writing haiku, and refocused my etsy shop. But not my name. My new love is art journaling. I've always been a journalist but not an artist, so this has been so exiting for me. I encourage everyone to try art journaling, and remember, there's no bad art journal page.

That sounds like me! {:-D
Nicely written, Deb! I'm sure that no matter where your current interests are, you'll keep producing beautiful art.
Deb, My family used to vacation in Cape May when I was a child. (I grew up outside Washington, DC.)
I'm loving seeing the wonderful artistic journals you are making! ♥
Great intro :)

So fun to get to know you better Deb!
