I’m Margaret, creator of Splendid Little Stars.
I’ve always loved crafts. In fact when I was studying zoology in college, I would often be reading craft books instead of studying vectors and matrices or organic chemistry. Don’t get me wrong. I love science and especially nature. In fact a friend of mine and I ran our own kids’ camp for a few years—art and crafts, science, nature, music, and movement (dance). I had a science club one summer for kids in the neighborhood. I’ve taught a lot of nature classes to kids over the years. Fun!
I love all crafts (well, almost!). At present in my shop I’m focusing on tie dye and dyeing of fabric in general. Outside of the shop, I enjoy teaching the tie dyeing process. If I decide to revitalize my Sparkly Park shop, I will have jewelry and paper products—my other love. And I love photography! That’s one of the joys of blogging—sharing photos!
At home I live with my husband, son, and 2 very sweet kitties. My daughter lives in Asheville, NC. Both my children have artsy/crafty side businesses—my daughter photographs weddings; my son makes leather watch straps.
Things I love: nature, photography, cooking (sometimes), gardening, hiking, bicycling, exploring new places, friends, laughter, and making artsy-crafty things.

Thank you for inviting me to be part of this wonderful team! It's going to be (already is) so much fun!
I bet your camps were fun...I know I'd attend :)
And I always love seeing your photos on your blog!
so interesting. That's what's so great about this post series, we can learn a little bit more about each other. {:-D
I enjoyed learning more about you Margaret! I'd love to attend your camps too! :)
I have a hard time reigning in my crafty interests, too. I think that science and arts are a perfect mix for life!
Hi Margaret. Great to learn a bit about you.
I hear ya! It's too hard to pick one arty interest! I love your tie dyes, but wouldn't it be fun to do a challenge one time where we have to make something outside of our normal media???!
